Vietnamese University named among the top 200 in the world

According to THE (Times Higher Education) Rankings 2020, Ton Duc Thang University has been named among the world’s top 200 universities.

For this year’s THE Rankings, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) from Vietnam made it to the Top 301-400 of influential global universities.

Ton Duc Thang University named among the world’s top 200 universities according to THE Rankings 2020 for the first time.

Particularly for THE Impact Rankings of the most influential global universities of 2020, Ton Duc Thang University has been ranked among the world’s top 200 universities with the best quality of education.

Achievements across high quality of education include: scientific research indicators and international publications; students trained in the teaching profession; support for learning resources and organization of academic activities for the community; educational activities for the community; and policies to support lifelong learning.

The only two universities from Vietnam ranked among Top 301-400 most influential global universities.

The list of top 200 universities with the best quality of education also features the University of Sydney, Monash University (Australia), the University of Oulu (Finland), and the Kyung Hee University (the Republic of Korea). Hanoi University of Science and Technology made it into the group ranked from 301st to 400th.

The achievements of Ton Duc Thang University in Climate action and Sustainable cities and communities also made the list of Top 200.

For this year’s THE University Impact Rankings, the list sees the participation of over 300 more universities in comparison to the 2019 rankings, increasing the total number of establishments reviewed to 766 from 85 countries globally.

The prestigious and long-standing universities such as the University of Auckland (New Zealand), the University of Sydney (Australia), Western Sydney University (Australia), and La Trobe University (Australia) still lead this year’s list.

Chiang Mai University (Thailand), University of Taipei (Taiwan), North-Eastern Federal University (Russia), Oregon State University (USA), Solent University (England) also joined the two universities of Vietnam in the top 301-400. Most of them are the world’s largest and longest-standing universities in modern industrialized countries with high levels of development in almost all aspects.

It is also reported that Ton Duc Thang University is the sole representative of Vietnam to be ranked among 901-1000  world’s top universities according to ARWU, 960th for academic achievements according to URAP, 165th for sustainable development by UI GreenMetric, and among Top 10 universities of Southeast Asia by WoS.
